Autobiography

She is a ordinary girl who has a huge dream not just for her self but also for her family. She is a girl who really believes in her self that she can, and she's me. I'm Cristel Belinario, a 18 years old girl. I am currently studying at Emiliano P. Baquial National High School and a grade 12 student under Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) track. I was born on 10th day of December, 2006 at New Bohol, Calumpang, General Santos City, but now I am currently staying at Prk. 4, Crossing Rubber, Tupi, South Cotabato. I am a girl who really love learning. All those subjects that has Math, I love it. I really love solving. I am a consistent Honor student since then. Im doing my very best to maintain my grades. Besides of being a academic achiever, I am also a beauty queen. I'm really into joining different pageants bringing my advocacy, whether it is on school or in Barangay's. In fact, I was crowned as Miss EPB NHS 2019 when I just 13, being crowned as Mutya ng Kabataan 2020, and Mutya ng Baranggay Palian 2nd runner up last August 19, 2023. For me it is already a big achievements. I'am also a student leader. I'am the President of the Youth for Environmental Organization (YES-O) in our School. I've been joining different seminars. My hobby was singing. My ultimate dream was to became a Doctor or o be a Civil Engineer.

I was came from a poor family. My parents name was Mrs. Jovelyn A. Belinario and Mr. Charlie M. Sulanting. I was the 5th child among 6 siblings. My siblings name was Stephen B. Magsael, Milkier B. Magsael, Claudine B. Magsael, Claire Belinario, and Jian Lester Belinario. My parents got separated since I was young. They choose to go on different path rather than fixing our family, so in simple word, I came from a broken family. After there break-up, my mom decided to Moved to Mlang (my grandparents hometown). We start a new life there without my dad. I was raised by my grandma, her name is Felomina Belinario. Besides my mom, she is one of the most caring, loving and good person I've ever meet. Before I cannot imagine living my life without her, but we cannot predict tomorrows, because last 2015 she passed away. That day I feel like my life became nothing. I really love her and I really wish that if I became successful, she is the one who will congratulate me first, but it will never happen, because she's gone. I will forever grateful because I was raised by a grandma who has a genuine heart.

Fast forward, when my grandma passed away, we moved here in Tupi. But before I will continue my story, I have a question, "What things or situation made you realize that you and your family is poor?" So here's mine, before I was so shy to go on Sari-sari store everytime my mom will ask me to buy there, why? it's because she will ask me to buy a HALF Kilo of rice, yes you hear it right, a HALF Kilo of rice, not 1 kilo not 2 kls but ½ kilo of rice so that we could have rice to be cooked and food to be eat before going to school. So just imagine, I walked for how many minutes just to buy a HALF Kilo of rice. This thing didn't happened once, not twice but several times. But that ½ kilo of rice really save our hungry days. During my elementary days, I go to school without any money to buy some foods during recess because we prioritize the milk for my younger brother. Being raised by a single mom with a new born baby is not easy at all, out life are just like a roller coaster. My mom cannot find job because she has a baby and also me and my sister Claire are students so no one with us can find job to sustain our daily needs, but thanks to our step brothers and sister for supporting us not so big but it really help us. I finished my elementary education as with honors, and that's the start were I really crave for success.

At the very young age. I started to work. I was just 14 when I have my first part time job. Luckily, after pandemic, some establishments are allowed to operate, SI Garahe's Grill (a barbeque house) are looking for employee so I get that job together with my friend Jalaine. We worked for 12 hours (7:00 am - 11:00 pm) and the total salary we can get for working in that very long hours it's either 250-300 pesos it depends on the income, but it's okay as long as the foods and rooms are free. That job help me to help my mom also. That time I can send some money to my mom. We worked there for how many months. When classes start, I stop working there. My mom told me to go back in Mlang and study there but I choose to stay here because I'm aware of our family situation. Instead of going back in Mlang, I choose to stay and to be a working student. Although it's hard for me to live far away from my mom, I have no choice. I need to do this to continue my study and I really want to stand on my own because I believe that doing this can lessen the expensive my family could have. I know by doing this I could help them. I've been a working student since I was on 10th Grade. Because of my hard work and determination, I finished my Junior high school as With High Honors, thanks to Miguel Family. Now that I'm in 12th grade and a graduating student, I'm still a working student. I'm so thankful to Miano Family for giving everything I need. Sometimes I really missed my mom, the way she take good care of me I really miss it but I have no choice, I need to be a working student to have a great future, for me to pay back all of there sacrifices. I'm so thankful for everything that I have right now. Our life now is not really in a better situation but I can say that our life now are very far from what our life before. I can say that the Lord really provide and He's good everytime. To those who didn't experienced what I've experienced, you're lucky, you must be thankful for what you have. To my fellow student who experienced worst things than mine, just continue, surrender everything on him because he is with us. He will never disappoint us. May each of us will reach out goals in the future.

Padayun lang!
